I'm reading through MLIA and came across one about someone who's dad gave them beef jerky and a 6-pack of mountain dew after a performance instead of flowers.
And I realized, that just once, I'd love to get flowers for something. Other than a corsage for a dance, I mean, or from my mom for Valentine's day.
I don't remember ever getting even a single flower after a concert or other performance, or even after graduation.
I'm upset about this fact, for some reason. Maybe because I've watched so many people get flowers--the actors in our school musicals, other seniors after our final concert, etc. Never have I gotten one.
:( I'm kind of mopey today, prolly 'cause I don't feel particularly well. But I know I've thought about my lack of flowers before, usually when staring at the flowers aforementioned people received from their families.
Is it because my mom never thought of this, or because she never had the money? But heck, plenty of our spring concerts were done when there were, y'know, spring flowers outside. And those kind are free.
And, I got to wear a flower for the final concert, because boosters had them for every senior, but at our last home game marching performance? We got ribbons to put on our shakos (hats) and gave flowers to our mothers. WTF.
